Half The Sky

Original music composition of the feature film « La Moitié du Ciel », directed by Abdelkader Lagtaâ and produced by Christophe Stathopoulos (DGDP Productions).

The movie is inspired by the book “La Liqueur d’Aloès”, written by Jocelyne Laâbi.

Synopsis:
In the 70’s in Rabat, Morocco, Jocelyne, a 28-year-old French teacher, is married to Abdellatif Laâbi, a 29-year-old Moroccan poet, with whom she has two children. Abdellatif, director of the opposition magazine Souffles, creates with his friend, Abraham Serfaty, the clandestine revolutionary movement, Ilal-Amam. In January 1972, Abdellatif and Abraham are arrested. From this moment begins the battle of prisoners’ women against institution to set their husbands, their sons and their brothers free.
